Feeling Joy!

The way we feel comes from the thoughts we have about the circumstances around us. We can’t change the circumstance, but we can change our thoughts about it.

Fact: Our thoughts are optional.

I didn’t learn this fact until I was in my late 30’s. I seriously thought I had no control over what I thought, how I felt, and the results I had. Knowing that I can think anything I want is so freeing. When a thought isn’t serving me, all I need to do is change it to one that is.

It sounds so simple, but trust me, it’s actually quite difficult. I have to think on purpose. I have to recognize my old negative thought patterns and deliberately change them. This takes some work, but it’s doable, and so worth it.
