    How I lost 50 pounds

Once upon a time, I thought I knew everything there was to know about being healthy and losing weight. I had tried every plan, pill, and program out there but I was still carrying an extra 50 pounds on my body. I finally decided I had had enough! So, I stop dieting and forcing myself to run 5 miles every day (something I hated), and I started listening to my body. I refuse to use the term work-out. If it feels like work, it’s more likely…

I was attempting to follow the standard prescription for weight loss “Eat Less, Move More”. I had not yet learned that  carrying extra weight is a hormonal not caloric disorder. I was trying to outrun a bad (or should I say S.A.D. (Standard American Diet diet), and this just doesn’t work. By the way, I did lose a whopping 2 pounds by running 5 miles/6 days a week during those 6 months. Exercise is amazing. It is great for mental…
