TRANSCRIPT:

This is The Joyful You Podcast, episode 86, It Starts With You.

Welcome to The Joyful You Podcast.

On this show, I talk all about the tools you need to build faith in yourself, cultivate a healthy relationship with food, your mind, and your life.

I’m your host, Rachael Collins.

As a certified life coach, it is my mission to show you how to work with your body, manage your mind, process your emotions, improve your relationships, and create supportive habits so you can live well, feel well, and become your strongest, healthiest, happiest, most amazing self, a joyful you.

I am so excited about today’s episode because I am making the official announcement that we are expanding A Joyful You and making some really exciting changes.

Okay, maybe not changes, we’re just adding on to what we’re already doing.

And that’s what I want to share with you today.

You know that I love all things help, all things weight loss, and I love weight loss coaching.

But the last year or so, I have been struggling a little bit.

I kept feeling like there was something more that I was supposed to be doing.

When I first started this business six years ago, I seriously thought long and hard about what it was that I wanted to do with my work as a coach.

And the thing that I really wanted to do was I wanted to help women and moms just like me live a joyful life.

And that’s why I called it a Joyful You.

And since then, I’ve kind of ventured a little bit away from that, but we’re coming back.

Now like I just said, I have been thinking a lot about this.

And while I’ve been thinking about what I want to do, I’ve also been thinking about what got me into life coaching in the first place.

Why did I become a life coach?

So here’s what life is like for me six years ago.

I had just lost 50 pounds, but I was still struggling to feel good in my body.

I was still struggling with food.

I also still hated my body, and I couldn’t figure out why.

I had just lost all this weight.

What the heck was going on?

I was also dealing with some mom issues and some relationships with my children that I didn’t like.

I was really frustrated with the way that I was mothering.

I was frustrated with the way that my kids were being.

I was angry at my financial situation.

Basically, I felt like I was failing in every possible way.

I knew that there was supposed to be joy in the journey.

So where was it?

And why couldn’t I find it?

But God had a plan for me, and he led me to life coaching.

I hired my first coach, and that was when I finally was able to figure out what was really creating my problems and then exactly how to fix them.

And once I had this breakthrough, everything changed.

So what created such a dynamic shift?

It was that I realized I had to work on myself as a whole.

It was more than just the physical.

It was more than just losing weight.

It was more than just my relationship with food.

Focusing on that was great.

But there were so many other areas in my life that needed my attention too.

I had become unbalanced.

I had become unaligned.

It’s kind of like putting new tires on a car without balancing them and without aligning your steering.

If you don’t do those things, things are still off and the vehicle isn’t driving at its best.

And if you keep going and you keep driving it unbalanced like this, you wear everything down.

You might have new tires, but if you leave it unbalanced and unaligned before long, you’re going to have a broken car.

The same thing happens with us.

I learned that in order to feel my best, everything needed to be balanced.

It needed to be aligned and it needed to be in harmony.

That’s where the problem laid.

I just thought my problem was sugar and that I couldn’t stop eating it.

That I was a bad mom because I wasn’t doing all the mom things perfectly.

I had no idea that it was because I was unbalanced and out of alignment with myself.

This is what life coaching helped me do.

It helped me balance my whole self because we are holistic beings.

I balanced the physical, the emotional, the spiritual, the mental, and the social areas of my life and myself.

And it changed everything.

It’s what made all the difference.

Once I started balancing these, things just started clicking.

Sugar stopped being an issue for me.

My relationships improved.

Money flowed.

I stopped feeling overwhelmed.

And instead of feeling like I was a failure, I began to feel joy.

As I thought about what exactly it is that I want a Joyful You to look like, what it is that I want to bring through my work to the world, this is it.

I want to start shifting the focus towards becoming Joyful, becoming a Joyful You.

And yes, it still includes the physical stuff, and we’re still going to be talking about weight loss if that’s for you.

And we’re still going to be talking about health, but we’re also really going to be talking about balancing all the other areas of your life so that you’re not just teetering through life.

I am really, really excited about this.

I’m really excited to be going in this direction.

You maybe won’t even notice the difference because we’ve pretty much been doing that here on the podcast anyways.

But we’re going to start talking about the whole body, the whole soul, because that is the reason that we are struggling.

That is the reason that we’re out of alignment.

So let’s get you balanced so that you can live an amazing life where you’re thriving and not just surviving, where you feel really good, not just in your body, but with yourself and in your relationships and in your motherhood and in your marriage and in your social circles everywhere.

So that is why we are expanding.

And can I just tell you that this expansion feels so good.

It feels so much more in alignment with what I feel called to do as a coach.

And I have felt God calling me here from the beginning, and I’m not sure what took me so long to listen, but I’m listening now and it feels good.

I can see where this is going.

I can see how this is going to help.

I can see that this is going to change everything for you.

When I very first started a Joyful You, I wrote a mission statement that said, I believe every woman should feel good, good in her body, good about her body, good about herself, so she can show up as her best, serving, creating, lifting, loving, and inspiring others, which will ripple out and make the world a better, happier, more Christ-like place.

This ripple effect is exactly what happens, and it is the thing that I love the very, very most.

When we as moms have faith in ourselves and we believe in ourselves and we take care of ourselves by making sure that we’re balanced and all the areas of our life are balanced, and when we feel good, that all rubs off on our kids.

It rubs off on our husband.

It rubs off on our family.

But it starts with you.

You can be the mom you want to be.

You can have the help and the relationships and the weight that you want to have.

And you can create the life that you want to live.

It is all 100% possible, and I am here to show you exactly how to get it.

This is what A Joyful You and this podcast, as well as my coaching practice, is going to be focused on now.

I hope you’re here for it.

Yesterday, I sat down and I rewrote my whole entire new one-on-one coaching program, and it is so good.

I also added a free what I’m calling A Joyful Breakthrough Conversation.

This is for you if you are struggling with something and you just want a fresh set of eyes, a coach’s perspective on it.

I’ll be able to help you see what’s going on so you can also have your own personal breakthrough just like I did.

There’s a link to sign up for this in the show notes.

You can also find it on my website, ajoyfulyou.com.

And I would just love to chat with you and get you feeling better.

Your kids and the world, they need you to show up as your best, feeling your best.

All right, guys, thanks for joining me today, and I will talk to you next time.
