Korean Beef Lettuce Wraps -2 ways
I thought it would be fun to start sharing some of my favorite recipes. I’ll show you how I make them “WORK” for me and my family. I am by no means a professional food blogger so don’t judge. 😆
Here is the first recipe – Korean Beef Lettuce Wraps.
It’s quick and easy and also a family favorite.
KOREAN BEEF LETTUCE WRAPS -2 ways!
1 lb. ground beef
1 Tablespoon sesame oil
1/4 cup Coconut Aminos
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
salt and pepper, to taste
1/2 cup brown sugar (optional see directions)*
1 bunch of Romaine lettuce
1/4 small yellow onion, cut into thin half moons
rice
cucumber, thinly sliced into rounds (my favorite is English)
Directions: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Brown hamburger with sesame oil and garlic. Drain most of the fat. Add coconut aminos, ginger, crushed red pepper flakes, and salt and pepper. Simmer for 2 minutes.
At this point, I remove a serving for myself.
To the remaining meat, add 1/2 cup brown sugar. Simmer 3 minutes more.
I eat mine wrapped in a piece of lettuce with onions and cucumbers on top (as pictured above).
My family eats theirs over rice with onions and cucumbers.
