Valuable

Everything we see and believe is based on our perspective. Our perspective then determines how we feel. When we don’t feel good or happy about ourselves, it is because of the perspective or belief you have about your value. You believe that human value can change. You believe if you could just lose weight, keep the perfect house, have the best well-behaved children, or make a lot of money;  your value increases. And if you put on weight, make a mistake, lose your job, or yell at your children; your value decreases.  You believe that some people are better than other people, and you’re not one of those people.  The idea that human value can change based on our performance here on earth and how well we’re doing creates fear in us. When we’re fearful, we do things because we believe they will increase our worth; and if we don’t, we will be less valuable and important.

This is a lie. Satan and the world want you to believe it. The world has taught you to base your value on your appearance, performance, property, success,  and the opinions of others.  This couldn’t be farther from the truth. Our value is based on our uniqueness as one-of-a-kind children of God. We cannot change this. Therefore, OUR VALUE CANNOT AND WILL NEVER CHANGE!  Every one was born with their value, and everyone, no matter what they do or don’t do down here on this earthly journey, will die with the same amount of value. Your intrinsic worth is there and the same, all the time, day and night, good and bad, no matter what. It is not tied to your lack of mistakes or your earthly successes. It just is.

Think of it this way. When one of your children makes a mistake- let’s say they forget their homework at home. Does this make them less valuable to you than your children who remembered to bring their homework to school? No, it doesn’t. What if one of your children grows up to be the town drunk and another the town mayor. Do you love the mayor more and see him as way more valuable than the child who has a problem with drinking? Of course not! What about a person who is born with disabilities. Does this make them less valuable than the person who was born without? No!

We are all valuable spirits, living different earthly experiences. Just because your experience doesn’t look like someone else’s doesn’t make you any more or less valuable than any one else. We are all the same when it comes to how valuable we are.  “Truly knowing that you are a daughter of God will affect every aspect of your life and guide you in the service you render each day.” –Joy D Jones
