Your Life-Your choice

If you do what is easy .. complain about your husband, your kids, your life. If you do what is easy.. stuff your face with cookies followed by a 32 oz diet coke. If you do what is easy .. lounge around all day in your sweats binge watching Netflix. If you do what’s easy ..  yell at your kids, or the mom who cut you off in the carpool line. If you do what’s easy .. complain about not never having enough, being enough, or doing enough. If you do what is easy, your life will always be hard. You will always be the victim. You will always be convinced that life has a vendetta against you. Why is everything out to make your life miserable? Why can’t you have a nice house, well-behaved children, and a skinny body  like so-and-so?

If you do what is hard .. talk highly of your husband, your kids, and your life even when they’re not perfect. If you do what is hard .. fuel your body with healthy food. If you do what is hard .. get up, get dressed, and show-up. If you do what is hard .. take control of your own thoughts and emotions, and stop trying to be the boss of everybody else’s. If you do what is hard .. choose to believe that you’re doing the best you can and that’s enough. If you do what is hard, you life will be easy. You will have the power to show up in your life exactly the way you want to -more confident, kinder, successful, skinnier, happier, healthier, and wealthier.

There is an old Indian folktale where an old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. The old man tell his grandson that there is a fight going on inside of him. A terrible fight between two wolves. One wolf is evil (he does what is easy)- anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, over-eating, resentment, lies, complains, scarcity mindset, etc.
The other wolf is good (he does what is hard)- joy, peace, love, hope, acceptance, empathy, generosity, compassion, happiness, etc.
The grandpa explains to his grandson that the same fight is going on inside of him and every other person. The grandson thinks about this for a minute and then asks his grandfather, “Which one will win?” To which the old Cherokee grandpa replies, “The one you feed.”
Which wolf are you feeding? The easy wolf that is making your life miserable or the hard wolf that is making your life easy?
Remember – Hard is Good!
