Health Redefined

I used to think I knew what “Health” was, after all I was a Health and Weight Loss Coach, but after running my first group of women through my 12-week Joyfully Lean Coaching Program, my ideas about health, wellness, and weight loss began to change. It turns out things I thought were healthy really aren’t. Things I thought were a big deal and important goals to strive for, aren’t actually a big deal and aren’t really that important.

I came to realize that nutrition and the food world, weight and dieting are crazy right now. Everyone is confused about what to eat and what not to eat. Everyone is chasing weight loss. There’s a lot of guilt and shame going on around what we look like, the number on the scale, and what we put into our mouths. We’re allowing it to define our value.

The healthy lifestyle we think we’re supposed to be living is actually making us feel guilty and causing us to harshly judge ourselves, and that’s far from healthy! I noticed that for the majority of us, being “healthy” and losing weight, is an obsession – a very unhealthy addictive game of control. And when we don’t achieve the body size or the number on the scale we want, we blame ourselves.

I’m including myself here. I used to be the same way. Hello! I’ve spent the past 4 going on 5 years looking for the “Holy Grail” of health and happiness.

BUT GUESS WHAT?!

I’m beginning to realize I had it all along and so do you!

So now I’m making it my mission to REDEFINE HEALTH, to clear up all the misconceptions (including the one’s I’ve taught), and to teach a new better way to get what you want. I’m so excited! I hope you’ll continue to stick around.
