Loving You

You can’t hate yourself into being a better person, you can’t hate yourself to become thin, and you can’t hate yourself into being healthier and feeling better.

The first step to loosing weight is to LOVE yourself! Really love yourself.

Love yourself and your body exactly how it is right now.

18 Can you tell from looking this picture how much I didn’t like myself? Learning to love me was challenging but so worth it!

I use to believe that if I lost the weight, I’d  magically be a better person. But guess what? On the inside, I’m still the same person. It wasn’t until I truly learned how to love and believe in myself that I ended the weight struggle once and for all.

No matter how unhealthy or overweight you are, if you want awe-inspiring results that are permanent, you must first learn to love and appreciate your body for how amazing it is right now.

So let’s get started. I want you to make a list of 100 things you love about yourself. List your talents, the parts of your body you do like (your eyes, your hair), things you can do, and things you’ve accomplished. This might be really challenging at first, but I know you can do it, even if it takes you a couple days or even a week. Don’t give up. This is super important.

Here’s a few of the things off of my list to get you started:
1. I keep a clean house even though I’m not a fan of cleaning
2. I have great calves.
3. I love learning.
4. I know how to say “no”.
5. I’m quick to forgive others.
6. I love my children fiercely.
7. I birthed six children.
8. I’m a good listener.
9. I’m good at being on time.
10. I get myself showered and dressed every day.

Now it’s your turn.

Being thinner will not make you love yourself any more than you love yourself right now. Work on loving yourself first, a little bit more every day, and then lose the weight out of a place of love -trust me it works much better this way. If you come from a place of love verses a place of hate and self-loathing, it will be much easier to lose the weight. You will desire to make the necessary changes because you love your body and you want what is best for it.
