Optional

Sometimes I forget that thoughts are optional.

But they are.

I forget I get to choose to think whatever I want.

Sometimes I want to think sad depressing things and other times I want to think more positive happy thoughts.

Neither is right nor wrong.

It’s a choice we get to make. Lucky us!

More times than I’d like, my thoughts aren’t serving me. I think thoughts that are making me feel or act in a way that I don’t care for.

In these moments I have a choice :

A. Keep thinking these thoughts and feeling these feelings and acting these ways

-OR-

B. Think different thoughts and have different feelings and act in different ways.

It’s my choice.

You have this choice too.

Anytime you’re struggling, might I suggest you check your thoughts, and then decide whether or not their keepers.
