Slow It Down!

So much about our lives today is fast and immediate.

We have high-speed internet, and Google where we can get immediate answers

We can hop on social media and immediately check into people’s lives.

We no longer have to wait for slow mail to deliver a letter.

We order fast food and have dinner ready immediately

Even our schedules have become fast-paced.

We’re always hurrying and rushing from one errand or carpool or outing to the next.

When moving in this fast-frenzied pace, we inevitably eat fast as well.

Rushing through our meals so we can move onto the next thing, or even eating in the car on our way to the next thing.

We are suffering from a SPEED DISEASE.

This dizzying pace in which we live is contrary to a happy, healthy and a joyful life.

Usually at the end of the day we go to bed wound up and exhausted at the same time.

So,what’s the remedy for this SPEED DISEASE?

RELAX and SLOW DOWN.

Schedule time to relax, and unwind.

Clear your schedule if you have to.

Or don’t schedule so many things all at once.

Take some time to breathe deeply, and to sit and do nothing for a few minutes.

Allow yourself enough time to eat your meals nice and slowly, tasting each bite instead of shoving it down and swallowing it whole.

You may not see this as stress, but your body does

And stress, my friends, equals weight gain and disease. Two things we DO NOT WANT!
