Stop Buffering

:

Buffering is when we use external things to change how we feel emotionally.

It can be anything that serves as a protective barrier from having to fully experience our lives and the sometimes intense emotions that accompany it.

It’s something we do to keep from fully experiencing our lives, to hide from reality, to procrastinate, to not show up and face the music.

We’re mostly buffer because we feel entitled to feel happiness and pleasure all of the time.

We are constantly bombarded with suggestions of ways to do this:

You should go eat something

You should go buy something

You should go watch something

These are all FALSE PLEASURES

The more we eat, the more we purchase, the more we watch, the more we drink, the more we do those activities.

They become an issue for us.

And most of the time they come with negative consequences: obesity, debt, addiction, etc.

Have you ever considered the possibility that life could be better if you didn’t have all those false pleasures?

What would be left if we stopped buffering?

What would life be like if we didn’t overeat, overdrink, overspend, overwork, over Facebook to escape our emotions?

When we allow ourselves to feel ALL of our emotions, we get to know ourselves in a deeper way.

Our emotions have a message for us. They’re trying to tell us something.

When we allow them,we can start finding the causes of our unhappiness, and from there we can start to change them.

The pleasure we will get from this will be TRUE LASTING pleasure with positive consequences.

When we trade false pleasures in our life for well being, we gain so much more.

We gain confidence!

The more confidence we have, the more empowered you feel and the more we have to offer to the world!

No more hiding away behind our diet soda, bag of M&M’s, and Netflix.

It’s time to really live and show the world what we’ve got!
